The Demi is a flat half-body panel, not a mask, despite BON CHARGE also selling an Infrared PEMF Mat Demi at the same $699 price. It runs 60 x 5W dual-chip LEDs at 660nm and 850nm for 300W across a 38 x 22cm face, with greater than 100 mW/cm2 published and no measurement distance stated. It is the weakest value in the BON CHARGE panel line: the same money buys far more emitting area elsewhere in the range.

Our Review

The BON CHARGE Demi is a compact red light therapy panel designed for people who want more coverage than a handheld device without dedicating a large portion of their home to a full-size panel. At $699, it isn’t an inexpensive introduction to red light therapy, but you’re getting enough coverage to target areas like your face and chest, back, abdomen, hips, or legs without treating one tiny section at a time. There are also no apps, subscriptions, or complicated programming to worry about. Plug it in, choose red light, near-infrared light, or both, set your time, and you’re ready.

There is one expectation we’d set before you spend the $699: BON CHARGE calls the Demi a half-body device, but the panel itself measures approximately 15 inches tall by 9 inches wide. It provides considerably more coverage than a handheld, but don’t picture a panel that literally spans half your body from head to waist. Depending on what you’re trying to target, you may need to reposition yourself or complete separate sessions. In this review, we’ll go through how the Demi works, what you’re actually getting for the price, how practical it is to use regularly, returns and warranty coverage, and what owners are saying so you can decide whether this is the right amount of red light therapy for your routine.

The BON CHARGE Demi

The Demi uses 660nm red light and 850nm near-infrared light, and you can use either wavelength independently or both at the same time. Red light is generally used when you’re focusing more on surface-level applications like skin, while near-infrared reaches deeper and is commonly used when targeting muscles and recovery. You don’t need to get overly caught up in specifications here, but the Demi is rated at greater than 100 mW/cm² and contains 60 dual-chip LEDs, so you’re getting a fairly powerful panel despite its compact size.

The Demi weighs about 8.4 pounds, which we think is actually part of its appeal. It’s substantial enough to feel like a real piece of equipment but still manageable enough to move around your home. That’s really where we’d decide whether the Demi is right for you. If your main goal is your face, knee, shoulder, or another small area, you’re probably paying for coverage you don’t need. If you want your entire front or back exposed at once, you’re probably going to wish you bought something larger. The Demi makes the most sense when you want to regularly treat medium-size areas without committing the money or floor space to a much bigger panel.

Using the Demi

Using the Demi is refreshingly straightforward. Place it on a stable surface, plug it into the wall, choose red, near-infrared, or both, set your session time, and position yourself in front of it. Protective goggles are included as well. We actually consider the lack of an app a positive here. You don’t need your phone nearby, there’s nothing to pair over Bluetooth, and your ability to use a $699 panel isn’t dependent on BON CHARGE continuing to support a piece of software years from now.

The tradeoff for its compact size is that you’ll need to be deliberate about positioning. Using it for your face and upper chest is fairly straightforward, and the same goes for placing it near your legs after training. If you’re trying to create a full-body routine, however, you’ll be moving either yourself or the panel between areas. We wouldn’t necessarily consider that a flaw. It’s the compromise you’re making for a panel that’s easier to live with. Before buying, we’d decide which matters more to you: portability and easy storage or exposing considerably more of your body in one session.

Price

The BON CHARGE Demi currently costs $699 with free shipping and is HSA/FSA eligible. Your purchase includes the Demi panel, power cord, and protective goggles. There are also no subscriptions or recurring fees attached to using it, so once you own the panel, you aren’t paying anything additional to continue your sessions.

We’d look at the $699 price in the context of how much coverage you actually need. If you know you’ll primarily use red light therapy on one or two small areas, we’d question whether you need to spend this much. On the other hand, if you’re already considering panels costing $1,000 or more but don’t have the space or desire to leave a large device standing in your home, the Demi starts making considerably more sense. You’re essentially paying for the middle ground between targeted treatment and a true large-panel setup.

Shipping

BON CHARGE currently includes free shipping with the Demi. Because the panel weighs about 8.4 pounds and is relatively compact, you’re also not dealing with the delivery and placement considerations that can come with substantially larger red light panels. Once it arrives, we’d test both wavelengths, the timer, and the controls relatively early rather than letting an expensive wellness purchase sit unopened. More importantly, use those first few weeks to figure out whether the panel’s coverage actually works for the areas you intend to target while you’re still within the return period.

Returns & Warranty

BON CHARGE offers a 30-day return and exchange period on its red light therapy devices, while the Demi carries a one-year manufacturer’s warranty and lifetime technical support. The one-year warranty is adequate, but we’d prefer longer coverage on a $699 panel. This is the type of device we’d expect to own for several years, so additional warranty protection would make us more comfortable with the investment.

We’d also read the complete return conditions before using the panel rather than assuming a 30-day return period means anything can be sent back in any condition. That’s something we’d recommend with any expensive wellness device, but it’s especially relevant with the Demi because you may not know whether its size is right for you until you’ve actually positioned it around the areas you plan to treat.

What Customers Are Saying

The Demi’s customer feedback is overwhelmingly positive, although there aren’t hundreds of reviews to work with. What interests us more than the star rating is that owners repeatedly mention the same thing we’d consider before buying: its size. Customers like being able to leave the Demi on a counter, move it around the house, or position it toward different areas without dealing with a huge panel. Some also describe incorporating it into routines they already have, including using it in the morning or evening, while stretching, or while doing yoga. That’s the kind of feedback we’d pay attention to because a red light panel is only valuable if it’s convenient enough that you actually keep using it.

Customers have also reported positive experiences involving their skin, relaxation, sleep, stiffness, swelling, and how they feel after sessions. We’d treat those as individual experiences rather than results you should automatically expect, particularly when reviews start getting into pain, inflammation, or other health-related outcomes.

One thing we’d keep in perspective is that there isn’t a huge amount of independent Demi-specific discussion outside BON CHARGE’s storefront and syndicated product reviews. We didn’t find a meaningful Reddit owner community dedicated to this particular model, so we’d rather be transparent about the limited independent feedback than make a relatively small number of reviews sound more conclusive than they are. At the same time, we didn’t uncover a recurring pattern of serious Demi-specific complaints.

The more obvious drawback is something you can see before you even order it: coverage. If you’re already imagining yourself constantly repositioning the Demi because you want your entire body exposed, we’d spend more on a larger panel now rather than buying this one and wishing you had. If you only care about a very small area, we’d probably save the money and go smaller. The Demi is at its best for the person in between: someone who wants meaningful coverage, simple operation, and a panel that’s convenient enough to keep nearby without letting red light therapy equipment take over the room.

Final Verdict

4.6

The BON CHARGE Demi is ideal for someone who wants red light therapy to fit naturally into their routine without committing to a large panel or complicated setup. You don’t need an app, subscription, or much preparation, and it’s compact enough to move around depending on what you want to target. The main thing we’d want you to consider before spending $699 is whether the coverage matches how you plan to use it. If you’re mainly targeting your face and chest, abdomen, legs, back, or other specific areas, the Demi gives you enough coverage to make sessions practical without taking over your space. You’ll just need to reposition it for larger areas, and we wish the one-year warranty were longer at this price. If you already know you want broad full-body exposure every session, you’d probably be happier investing in a larger panel from the beginning. But if convenience matters more to you and you want a panel that’s easy enough to actually use consistently, the Demi sits in a very practical sweet spot.
