The Vital Pro 2.0

The Pro 2.0 uses nine wavelengths: 480nm blue, 590nm yellow, 630nm, 660nm, and 670nm red, plus 810nm, 830nm, 850nm, and 1060nm near-infrared light. That’s one of the most important differences between this and the original Pro, but we wouldn’t reduce the upgrade to simply having five more numbers on the spec sheet.

There are 72 premium 5-watt anti-flicker LEDs, compared with 70 on the original Pro, and Vital lists irradiance between 150 and 210mW/cm². Rated power is 360W. Those are strong numbers for a panel measuring only 12.5 x 8.5 x 2.3 inches, but the compact size is honestly what we’d pay more attention to. If your ideal routine involves standing in one position and exposing most of your body at once, we’d move up to the Elite 2.0 rather than spend your time constantly repositioning the Pro.

For targeted and half-body use, though, the smaller footprint is part of what makes it so good. You don’t need a dedicated wellness room. You don’t need to rearrange furniture. And you don’t have to decide whether you’re committed enough to red light therapy to give a huge panel permanent floor space. The Pro 2.0 can simply become part of a room you already use.

At $599, the Pro 2.0 sits in a sweet spot within Vital’s lineup. It’s premium enough that we’d expect excellent construction, useful controls, and technology that won’t feel limiting a year from now, but it hasn’t crossed into the price territory where we’d expect full-body coverage.

The comparison that matters most is the original Vital Pro. At its current $399 price, the original remains an excellent value if 630nm, 660nm, 830nm, and 850nm are all you want. You still get a proper panel, integrated stand, strong output, zero EMF at treatment distance, and the same three-year warranty for $200 less.

But we think the Pro 2.0 easily earns that $200 difference for someone who will use what it adds. You’re getting 480nm, 590nm, 670nm, 810nm, and 1060nm on top of a broader overall light platform, plus the touchscreen and presets that make those options considerably easier to navigate. That’s a substantial upgrade without substantially changing the size of the device.

There’s also value in not having to assemble a collection of specialized products. If you’re already considering a separate blue-light skincare device, another light for conventional red/NIR sessions, and perhaps something with a deeper near-infrared wavelength, we’d rather put that money toward one well-designed panel that can handle the broader routine.

That’s why we wouldn’t describe $599 as paying extra simply for a newer generation. The Pro 2.0 feels like a genuinely different tier of device. You’re paying for versatility, better control, and the ability to explore different types of light therapy without immediately reaching the limits of what your panel can do.

At 12.5 x 8.5 x 2.3 inches and approximately 10 pounds, it has enough weight to feel substantial without becoming difficult to accommodate. We’d probably give it a regular spot on a dresser, desk, counter, or home gym surface rather than repeatedly putting it away. It’s compact enough that doing so shouldn’t require sacrificing much space.

The panel uses two high-speed fans for cooling. With 72 5-watt LEDs and 360W rated power packed into a relatively small enclosure, active cooling makes sense. You also get a basic remote in addition to the touchscreen, which gives you another way to control the device once you’re already positioned for a session.
