Red vs. near-infrared for joint pain and muscle recovery — which, and how often?

Quick rule of thumb: near-infrared (~850nm) penetrates deeper, so it's the usual pick for joints and muscle; red (~660nm) is more surface-level. Many panels combine both.

Research suggests it may reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and ease pain and stiffness in conditions like osteoarthritis — as a recovery aid, not a replacement for rehab or your doctor's plan. Consistency matters more than exact timing (before or after training both have support). What area are you treating, and with what device?
